As we celebrate our 4th birthday, we take a look back on the journey that led to where we are now and the community that helped support us.
3Doodler is all about getting hands on. We always look for ways we can make our pens simpler and more accessible to encourage a tactile experience.
We first came across LEGO Education at SXSWedu in March 2015. Inspired by the huge impact they are making in education, we challenged our EDU team to see what would happen when we combined the world's first 3D printing pen with the world's favourite building blocks. We wanted to use LEGO to quickly construct larger [...]
It’s that time of year again. Time to scoff down unimaginable amounts of food. Time to agonizingly choose between all those Starbucks festive flavours. Time to sing and be merry. And yes… Time to Doodle. This time last year, with only a few thousand 3Doodlers out there we did our best to light the way. [...]
You may have recently walked down 53rd Street in New York and looked into the MoMA Store to see if filled with a vast array of awesome doodles, one of which is the 3Doodled Boat! Measuring two foot long and about 1.5 feet high, this was certainly an epic achievement and a labor of love, but [...]
After such an amazing 2013, we're thrilled to kick off the New Year with some great announcements and a sneak peek of what's to come from 3Doodler this year. At CES in Las Vegas we're announcing the roll out of 3Doodler to retail later this quarter, with stores such as ThinkGeek.com; the MoMA Store and [...]
Inviting Bud Bullivant to work with us on our Kickstarter was a total no brainer. Inspired by nature, his work really resonated for us. His pieces were almost exclusively dedicated to animals, and his use of natural materials together with his wire work stood out amongst all the artists we reviewed. So we dropped Bud [...]
This week we’ll be doodling up a storm at 3D Printshow London (this Thursday, Friday and Saturday) in our very own 3Doodler Creative Lab. The event is taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington and promises to be a show to remember. As well as 3Doodler there’ll be a 3D Printshow Hospital, the [...]
A few weeks before our Kickstarter launched we were brainstorming how to show backers the artistic potential of 3Doodler. It occurred to us that wire art was a very close parallel, at least in look and feel, to 3Doodling. So we scoured the web and came across some truly talented wire artists on Etsy. After [...]
Thank you all for your feedback! Firstly, the Hall of Fame is back up, apologies for the downtime. We should be able to handle the traffic now! But on to the plastic... There was strong demand for Glow in the Dark plastic, as well as a lot of requests for Fluorescents (and from our PLA backers, translucent plastics). For anyone clamouring for conductive plastics, we haven't yet tested these with the 3Doodler, but please note the comments about conductive paint, which can be used as a good work-around. So what's it gonna be? [...]
